Dr. John Allgair Takes Helm as BRIDG Interim President
New Head of Not-For-Profit at NeoCity is Veteran of Semiconductor Industry
Kissimmee, Fla., January 3, 2024 – Dr. John Allgair, who has been with BRIDG since 2016 during its beginnings at NeoCity’s 500-acre technology district, has assumed the role of interim president.
Tuesday’s announcement positions BRIDG with a leader who has more than 20 years in the semiconductor industry focused on advanced package integration, factory design, process integration, yield enhancement, lithography, and materials characterization. Allgair’s familiarity with the organization’s mission combines with a vision for the future that is well-suited to leading BRIDG into a new era.
2023 was a banner year for BRIDG. Of significance is its leadership of a coalition that is a finalist in a National Science Foundation competition that could bring $160 million to the Central Florida region. Allgair has played an instrumental role in working with the National Science Foundation and other federal funding opportunities, including the Department of Defense’s Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) Program on a BRIDG contract involving licensing critical technology from imec. His role was also crucial in a recently announced Cornerstone Award that is being administered by IBAS.
Allgair has worked in roles focused on business growth, innovation, and bringing new products to market during tenures at Nanometrics, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, AMD, SEMATECH, Freescale, and Motorola. He serves on the SPIE Advanced Lithography program committee and has multiple publications in peer-reviewed industry journals. He received a Ph.D. in electrical engineering with an emphasis in semiconductor physics and processing from Arizona State University.
He succeeds James Vandevere, who had been BRIDG’s senior executive since December 2021. The BRIDG board of directors wishes Vandevere success in his future endeavors and is grateful for his leadership that saw the not-for-profit maintain and forge new partnerships coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
