Driven by a fierce passion for microelectronics and for Florida, Brian Sapp leverages his experience and technical expertise to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies across Central Florida and the entire state with impact globally. As BRIDG senior director of technical performance and partnerships, Sapp drives the company’s competitive advantage to new levels by growing and executing the company’s Advanced System Integration activities and other strategic programs.

 

A recognized leader in technology and innovation, Sapp was most recently an assistant vice president at The Research Foundation for the State University of New York (SUNY), a private not-for-profit educational corporation that provides grants and contract support for SUNY campuses including SUNY Polytechnic Institute.

 

With a focus on high-value economic development initiatives and collaborative technology development, he played a key role in shaping the recently announced partnership between the State of New York and Cree, Inc. to establish a power electronics corridor on the East Coast through the creation of the world’s largest silicon carbide fabrication facility.

 

Before joining SUNY Poly, Sapp was a member of the executive team at SEMATECH. As director of device integration for all research, development, and manufacturing programs, Sapp worked to promote innovation, excellence, and sustainability throughout the organization. Prior to SEMATECH, he was responsible for Back-End-Of-Line (BEOL) technology development efforts and customer engagements at IBM Corporation.

 

Sapp is a Florida native with a reputation for turning ideas into real value for his team and his customers. In addition to his many professional achievements, patents, and publications, Sapp is a dedicated coffee enthusiast with a passion for exercise and healthy living.
